Signed fors. How many; how long?

A quick question that I cannot seem to get a sensible answer to in my office.

How much time is allocated into walk time for the signing (or not) of Recordeds and Specisals?

My reason for asking is that on one of the duties I cover there are a lot of businesses (shops , home business etc.

On a quiet day you are looking at up to 18 ; always over 12. On a bad day >25.

Is this factored (in any way) into the overall walk time.

I think not and that an average (of say 3 or 4) is used .

Not certain about this, but should you be carrying so many SD's in your bag? Thought there is a limit on the amount that you can carry

I think the limit is eight for Specials? And I won't take more. The rest are Recorded ; and there seems to be no limit on them

Not a van duty.

I have a small pouch to carry them around. Actually works quite well as most are letters or small packages.

But it's really about the time allocated for the disposal of them. Coz it obviously affects the walk time

Well I had 12 specials the other day which I took out as I was not aware there was a limit. I was then advised that I should take out no more than 9 specials by one person, then no more than 6 by another?

So I would guess the limit is 6, 8 or 9 for specials, as more than that would mean more time I guess

When I did a business round with half a walk with just shops and the like, I had a LOT of signed for items around 20 on average daily, was a joke you factor in 3 minutes to sign for each one as you have to go into the building and get a signature 3 x 20 is 60 minuets of prating about. Nobody factored this into the walk.

I’m serious here, a lot of solicitors, and estate agents and a few banks.

Our office is 8 specials.Unlimited recordos though.Record in one day for recordeds is 63.58 for one block of flats,every flat,from the gas boiler maintainers.Had to get help otherwise not a chance of finishing.

Who gave you 12 specials? Surely it's their job to know what the maximum number is?

Tell me about it.I cant remember taking anymore than 5 sd plus recordeds in one day on the old walks.10 give or take is about right Id say now.

I had 5 big specials once recently, a total joke as they litterally took up half the pouch. Showed manager and he signed away the biggest 2 which i took then took back to the cage. They wern't happy saying i should have checked with driver 1st but stuff that u can't got out with only 1/2 pouch of mail cause of so many specials. It's gonna get worse, there should be a max size of combined specials.

5 high value, 8 ordinary, unlimited recorded or tracked - there is also a weekly limit and I think a van is 35 per day and they should only be carried in secure vans with a lock box.

Walkers should not take out more than 8 reg,end of.
As for duties being worked on how many signed for's it gets,there is no such thing set in stone as far as i'm aware.
Hampshire,are you on a high st or something like that,then common sence says if you're struggling with it,it needs to be looked at.

Only vans I've seen with a lock box was the post buses and they are long gone from my office
