Cuts in office (with more cuts to follow)

What are the current budget plans in your office like?

More duties to disappear?

All this before any agreement is published and accepted (or not). After, whatever agreement is implemented, I am 99% certain that it will involve more lost hours in delivery offices, not to mention the wider picture.

Current plans in our office are to have deliveries lasting 4.5 hours, not too sure if this breaks any agreement we have on the 3.5 hour delivery span, but the manager seems to think he can create new walks with a delivery span that lasts as long as he deems fit.

Just how much more can RM squeeze out of delivery hours before it's bled dry?

I think RM are being allowed to push the envelope as far as they can on deliveries until the failures start to occur, either in human terms or terms of service. The problem is that nobody knows what the limit is and so they are going to squeeze the donkey til it squeals.

People like most things have different tolerances due to age, fitness, temperament and what one person is capable of, another is not and at the moment those who cannot perform at the perceived level are being treated differently.

Manager droped a bombshell this morning announcing that we were to lose a round in our small SPDO (it only has 7 rounds and a van duty). Cutting a 7 hour round out completely and distributing it round the remainders. I cover the days off in our office so basically I've been told that I can either accept being dropped to 21 hours a week giving me a totally unliveable wage or else accept the offer of being sent to a different office to make up my hours another day of the week- the day and the office will be of the managers choosing on a week by week basis. I struggled not to tell her to go and f**k herself there and then. Spent today going round just totally fed up and in despair. I HATE this company.

Dude first off get your rep involved as these cuts are not supposed to be happening at the mo, also are they justified or have they just stuck a pin in a dartboard to come to that figure.

I am pretty sure they cannot without recompense just cut your hours and there should be a preference excercise within the office for this cut. As for moving you at their request i suggest if you are moved be as arsy as you can at the new office, drag out throwing out, do job properly, NO CAR etc.... so no one wants you.

200 hours out of my office (another Northern Ireland office) but as my office is overspent by 200 hours per week at the moment I can only see that increasing to 400 hours per week

Looking like 5 duties to be cut at mine Our rep wont agree to anything before we hear about the national agreement but these cut do normally happen.

Actually, our "rep" and I use the term very loosely has agreed to all this, so I won't hold my breath expecting any help from him. What the heck is a preference excercise you speak of? Is it like demanding a re-pick? And yeah, I do intend to make it incredibly awkward for them when I get sent to other offices. I'll be claiming mileage to the last metre, and cutting off every week on the dot. Cheers for the reply though!

Pretty sure you can demand to be dropped off at the designated office, and returned to you're regular office, so no need to claim
millage, and it will piss them off as well.
