Lessons to be learnt?

One of our blokes gave a packet to a customers neighbour as they weren't in.
Left a card informing them,but when the customer went to the neighbour,they denied receiving anything.
He's tried to get hold of the neighbour but they haven't been in when he's called.
He's worried shitless and i'm haveing to calm him down.

Be careful out there,the world is a s**t hole.

The same happened in ours a few years back.
Turned out the neighbours hated each other.
Eventually the neighbour coughed when the cops got involved.
Scary times ahead for your mate i'm afraid.

Similar thing happend to me a few years ago,and a recorded.

Person who packet was meant for made a big fuss,no one could id the signature,went on for a couple of days,and I was a floater at the time.

Manager ,said I was in big trouble ,my job was on the line etc.
Anyway neighbour evetualy got it ,nothing else was said.

Surley it must be ones person word agaist another.
Now only time I leave anything with a neighbour ,is if either the neighbour comes out and offers or I know its ok from previous.

Or just don't do it and never any cr@p will hit the fan!.

Would it be ok to say to taht customer - look i now for a fact i gave u that packet so for that reason i wont be delivering your mail until you have returned this packet to me or neighbour.!

No - that's illegal Check the Postal Act 2000 for Delay of Postal Packets.

ive left with neighbours before but after seing this i dont think ill bother anymore

its really anoying wen its a BIg packet tho anoying specially wen u ahve to carry it abotu in ur hand bag all day

this is the reason if you leave with a neighbour then dont leave a form then theres no proof it was you

I dont leave packets with any one......if there not in 739 form put though box and they have to go and collect the item.... the best thing to come out of it is,.....those that get loads of packets, end up stoping getting them ,when they have to go 2 delivery office to pick these items up.....and packet bag gets a little lighter over a period of time when they soon get fed up goin to pick items up

And where do you put the packet? And the next one? What do you do with the packets when you have to fill your bag with your next 11Kg?

I'd love to card them all, especially those with tiny little letterboxes that you can't even get a Lovefilm DVD through. I have a problem carrying packets around with me, and not having enough room for my last bag. Also, pouching off bags are tiny, they only hold three or four packets, that's if there's anywhere to pouch off.

iF i have to I will card them all,and on occasions have done,use a trolley so no problem,are advantages of trolleys.

1. buy some books with a carbon copy so you have a carbon copy of the recipt its not f@@king hard

I only leave with neighbours if agreed in advance otherwise it's back to office. Remember the p739 cards state designated neighbour!
