I think you confuse union with union leadership.
The reason people talk of leaving the union is because they feel disenfranchised with the democratic processes within the union.
Because it is relatively difficult for an ordinary member to register his protest they feel the only way this can be achieved is
by removing at least their part of the funding of the union.
It is not something i personally agree with but it is the failure of the union leadership to communicate properly with the general
membership that has brought this situation about.
And it P*SSES me off.

It's certainly the prevailing opinion in my DO. It's getting difficult to persuade people not to leave.

Good point TBT, whether you are happy with the leadership or not at least being a member of the Union gives you a vote on any possible agreement..
The thing that winds me up more than anything are the people who don't use that vote and then continue to moan.

the country it dosnt matter how long this agreement takes there will be very few of us left to

im staying in the union and always will, its not great but its all we got, in an era where maggie thatcher all but killed the power of trade unions they do all they can, we cant have it all our own way and have to accept things we dont want to do sometimes.
