Could anyone from the union shed any light on this ½ day holiday entitlement for the Queens birthday .It seems that a number of posties at are place keep get this mysterious half days holiday every year and the only logical answer is the Queens birthday .What action could be taken if you have never received this ½ day for your majesties birthday .Just calculated they owe me 12 and a half days.
You should all have '.5' days on your holiday entitlement sheet,i always do.Not 100% whether it is for this though.

I thought it got rounded up every 2 years to a full day. I have not heard a lot about it in years though

Mine if i rem right is the same each year,i'm thinking at our place we are being done for the .5 day.

Basic holiday entitlement is 22.5 days per year.
In our office we get 23 days one year followed by 22 the next. Seems to work ok. Probably depends on who keeps the records.
Have never heard of a half day for the Queens birthday though, and we've got posties with some 30 and 40 years service.

The half day per yr is for Maurnsday?mornsday the thingy where Liz gives some people (poor) a bag of coins

but does she have any real connection with us business wise.... like is she a director?.. pff
or do we just use her face on our stuff because shes well known?

Thought that the Maunday Thurs/ Queens Birthday finished years ago, something to do with the raising of your leave entitlement for years of service, 10 years- 4 weeks, 15 years- 5 weeks up to the max of 20 years- 6 weeks.
Of course she has something to do with Royal Mail .She used to make the tea at our place and Charles has got himself a nice 25 hour a week contract but he refuses to work weekends .

For the love of god, do they not even have inductions anymore? What's the queen got to do with Royal Mail?
