been bullied at work by another collauge for years and got much worst recently,been stressed out in the last few mths and tempted to go off sick with stress,any advice??????

sometimes its best to just walk out but i mean mayeb ask to go another another office - but explain because of the bullying.

You could say if i was to tell u more information he could make my life hell. but say you just want transfered asap.

i mean sumtimes its best just to not see that bully - ask for cicumstances to change other side of office etf ... or if hes ur driver then change to another walk .?

i dont know whats best but i think id go for that i worked in a call centre and my team leader was a bully - i nded up walking out cos i couldnt handle it but i wish id just asked to be moved AWAY from her to another line . would of been fine.

Regardless on whether you are a CWU member or not you should firstly and at your earliest opportunity avail yourself of a copy of the Bullying and Harassment Procedure Policy Document for all employees of Royal Mail Group plc.

Great advice. If he still gets shirty about it just report him. I'm quite fortunate because everyone is ok at our place. A few selfish sods will try and get you to do bits of their work for them but if you 'jokingly' tell them to "...get f*cked" the first time they ask they tend to not bother again. I think a lot of it stems from people not really understanding what 'seniority' actually means i.e it gives certain advantages in terms of allocating duties etc BUT it doesn't make you my f*cking boss!

You walk away and the bully wins. He will just start on someone else if you go. It is managements job to sort this out. It night be worrying but tell him to stop or you will take it further.

The thing about bully's is that while you are getting bullied everyone around you is secretly glad its not them.

Union has posters all over the place and so do the management saying they have a zero tolerance on bullying. Make them prove it.

You need to share your problem with someone sympathetic as it is difficult to do this type of thing on your own. if you feel you cant do this with a partner find a trusted friend to confide your worries to.

Royal Mail have an independent helpline 24/7 where you can speak to a trained counsellor
I believe Royal Mail has a bullying and harassment hotline as well where you can ring for advice.
You might want to speak informally about your concerns with a manager you could take your rep with you who will give you general advice but I believe cant take sides.

Do as Johnny p suggests and get a form off your manager. Do not let him fob you off with any crap. If there is a problem in the office it is his job to sort it and if it reflects badly on him then that is his tough sh!t.
Don't let it carry on. If it affects your health - go sick and tell them why.
Make your manager do what he is paid for - take responsibility.

Whatever happened to DRAW, Dignity and Respect At Work?.
I became a rep for this years ago after that chap in Birmingham committed suicide after being bullied,we had the sector manager down to set it up in our area with all the local offices sending one rep each.
Three months later it was down to two of us from local offices and then seemed to die a death and i have heard nothing since,but still the bullying goes on ,Royal Mail did their bit and then when the fuss died down they left it.

Do NOT involve Royal Mail management! They simply do not have the people skills, discretion or tact to deal with such issues, unless you work in a very different office to the ones I've experienced.
