walk sequencing starting here very soon

Hi we have been informed that we are going to get our mail walk sequenced from start of July and there is nothing we can do about this (Northern Ireland)
This will mean later starts and staggered start times for the whole office.
The time of the second lorry arrival is to be moved back by 3 hours, modernisation my bollocks.
Is it Royal Mail who are going to tell the public about these changes or is it going to be left up to us posties yet again to let people know.

Modernisation = Royal Fail what a joke this company has become

Royal Mail should print leaflets for us to deliver, explaining why modernisation will lead to domestic/business customers getting their mail later than they already do. Why should we get it in the neck because our bosses are incompetent half-wits?
A leaflet from Royal Mail, explaining the changes leading to later and later deliveries, is a must.

I think that walk sequencing will be nationwide eventually, done either in a MC or a larger DO which has space for one of the machines.

we have posters all over our office, saying walk sequenceing comes to our office in a week. even though yes you can guess it we have not been told anything by our managers. :cfo

We already have walk sequenced mail and have done for a while, times will depend how far away you are from office that does this, but last letter ........who knows what the deal is going to throw up but you can only work to your finishing time right

Perhaps Dingo knows what there is in the agreement about later starts and how this fits in with the USO and has the regulator granted RM permission to change the finishing times.

How big are these walk sequencing machines? i ask because i work at Watford,deliveries and mail center all under one roof,i am lead to believe another lsm is about to be installed to help cope with extra work being put in to the office as a result of Milton Keynes shutting,we are supposed to be taking over the LU postcodes,anyway back to my original question,do the w/s machines fit on the end of an LSM or are they a completely seperate machine.

We do all the mech mail for EN 1-11 postcodes,AL postcodes WD postcodes and soon the LU postcodes,so i guess it'll have to sequenced at the same mail cente!!!!!!,but then again Watford MC could be part of the 50% of m/c's going to the wall.

Assuming they are the compact variety they don't take up much room.. Shame they are slow at the job, we are forever waiting for mail to be sequenced these days. All part of the ploy to get us starting later no doubt.

dont want to disclose to much as they will be able to trace it back to the individual office, with this new system they are able to tell which office will get there mail and at what time it will arrive
at present our second lorry arrives at around 7 'ish and will not arrive until after 10 come July.
The start times have not been released yet or discussed but the rumour is that the rurals will be ok and town walks will get screwed again
people on family friendlys will have their sitsuations looked at but there are no gaurantees of keeping them as the business only have to try and accomidate were possible
we have been informed that the last letter times do not have anything to do with postcomm as they only ensure that there is one delivery / collection daily
Royal Mail can change the last letter times to what ever as long as they keep to the above
we are going to get tested for performance using the BSI100 and brought down the conduct line if not up to speed

yet again were are the union and what are they doing to stop any of this s**t?

Based on a diagram on a wall at our MC I guess they are about the same length or a bit shorter then an MTT. That LSM that is being installed at your place could with the right software adjustment be used as a walk sequencing machine.
