Disciplinary for running

Has anyone known this to happen? I can't stand posties who run as not only are they breaking RM and union rules and advice they are creating more work for us!!! Just found out my round is only so big because the previous postie ran and could do it in less than 3 hrs so more work was added. Takes me more 4 hrs usually and I only finish on time on a light day. If I were a DOM I would throw the book at runners as they are a liability in terms of sickness if they break their leg.

Slightly off topic, WE have several Muppet's that run 30 or so yards in the office to get served first, as soon as the P.H.G cage is open to collect the specials .

management have seen it, and join in with the game, asking who got there first today.

Thats not as bad as the ones in my office that pant all over the glass of the door with their noses up against it before its open.

With reference to the original question, I'm not too sure if it is against the rules, but, as walking whilst reading the addresses is against the rules, it probably is. Although it will depend on who was doing the running and if they are the DOM's pet or not. It is against all common sense however and if they had an accident due to their running, their injury may be the least of their problems.
Job and finish is gone, there is no reason to rush. A good, steady pace is all that is required, that is what the duties are built around, apparently.
