Drivers seperate holidays?

Query,at my place only so many drivers are allowed off in any one week,some of us have been knocked back holidays because of this,is this right,and would you say we are being discriminated against?

You maybe being discriminated against, but it's called "operational needs" .......
in our office it happens to all the rural deliveries .......

I would therefore postman arrange with your unit rep that all drivers have there own holiday roster and base that on a seniority bases where no1 gets 1st pick in the 1st year and then the following year no1 goes to the bottom of the roster and so on and so forth

We used to have 3 lists

1. PT
2. FT
3. Drivers

Now they have lumped all in the same pot and there's not enough space to take the odd days, and some weeks are oversubscribed.

Under the way forward agreement,one of the criteria for selection of annual leave is,
"in all cases the line manager will need to ensure specialist areas are always adequately covered. E.G. Drivers,"
"all employees will be included on an equal basis"
As the manager is attempting to maintain existing service levels,and abiding by existing agreements,this can
not be construed as discrimination,infact i would argue it's a rare instance of good practice.

In our office, we've got four leave groups. From memory, one driver is in each group, and obviously the floater will be in a group too. At present, there is nothing to stop there being more than one of us off on any given week, afaik. I'll have to check now I've said that.
