part time - d2d

i come in around 9 and usually leaving office about 9:45 stressing to get ready bcos the drivers all ready been ready 10 minutes.
(standing behind - hounding , making comments etc)

When i come in theres about 20 minutes of mail on my frame and then all the packets 10 mins setting up recordeds killling off mail 10 -15 mins can vary. boxing up walk - 20 - 25 mins . any other mail from previous day missorts etc 5-10 mins.

as you can see thats well over 45 minutres but i rush like mad to get it all ready in time. only just making it occasionally people waiting if theres alot more - but i am id say up to speed.

and when i come in my walks is meant to be prepped for me ALL READY TO GO

but there is NEVER d2ds in my frame! - am i expected to set up d2ds aswell which is easy 20 - 25 mins job i have 850 calls so setting up 1/5 a day wood be about 200 and when u have 3 d2ds to fold up and sort out i dont have the time for it.

either its in my frame when i come in , in the morning or i dont do it!

D2D is your responsibility,do it in RM time,not yours,if your frame isn't up when you come in,tell DOM or lino that you will be taking that time off your walk time,don't be intimidated,see your rep,they will push the boundaries until you say something

If you are sure that's correct, then when you get in in the morning, go and get your manager, or other person in charge. Ask him for a moment of his time, at your frame. When he's there, say 'this is meant to be prepped, ready to go, and it's not, what do you want me to do?'.

Let him organise it.

its not as simple as that - i just dont have the time and its just not the way it works in my office if i was to stand there adn start making up d2ds my driver would go pretty much balistic " you dont have time for that crap" to say im taking it off my walk wouldnt solve anything .

I was going to say to my manager simply - if its not in my frame when i come in then im not doing them as theres no time.

My responsability? so that means i AM supposed to be putting them into frame then? and not walking into a frame i can " pick up and go" not that this every happens

Nice idea but he has publicly advised us on RMC that he is not a CWU member, perhaps he may become more aware of the benefits of having 120,000 at your back.

Joking aside your advice is correct he just needs to address the situation with the DOM, and ignore any idiots chasing him. If they are that desperate to get him out then they should give him a hand.

at the moment im quite happy to just not do them - not in the frame - not getting done . simplez i cant do magic tricks.

No idea have never had a 25 hour contract in my DO - if your manager is a "good un" see what he says. One DO in our area has a "Bag Carrier" (A local name for it) and they don't even go into the office, the bags are sent out to the delivery and off they go - no sorting, prepping or anything.

this is the difference between a part time ( no time) postition and a full time ( plenty of time) job.

i dont have the time for d2d CRAP - wont be doing them if there not in my frame. dom can worry . not me

That depends on the duty. They are all different. Ask one of your gaffers. I cover a few different walks, some get help, partly prepped when I get there, some I do everything.

my D.O p/t get their frame prepped ready to go 99% of the time,unless its mega heavy,then it will get done as far as tying up,D2D's are the responsibility of p/timer who is on that frame,but looking at your problem,its not universal

if rm was to allocate me an extra 20 mins a day say come in at 8:40 id gladly come in adn do my d2d in their time.

NO CHANCE IM COMING IN EARLY TO DO THAT ON A PART TIME JOB FOR FREE.

when the full timers are getting plenty of time to do them HEY ! the full timers even have time to do my frame up!

why not jsut pay me to f***ing do MY FRAME - part time is a load of bollox !

get your walk re tested or ask the dom to show you how to do it. if you miss your lift , they still have to get you out to your first drop ,dont worry, if you cant finish on time , just cut off . Dont rush and dont get stressed out, its not worth it........
