I reckon by the end of feb due to the general elections once there in full flow no one will care about the plight of us postmen against R/M.

Surely,any deal needs to be signed off by both the top cwu and top RM.

CROZIER Leaves very soon ,and proably will not want to sign off any agreements,then have to wait for new man to come in ,get uptodate and then sign off.

Meanwhile RM with the Cooperation of the CWU are free to bring in any Excutive action they want ,like absorbstion,been told our walks will be 4.5 hours long on Pegus 2 time scale so that should equal about 7-8 hours real time.Been told this is going to happen regardless of the CWU.

So much for a deal by Christmas ,but did they say what Christmas 2011/2012/2013.

There won't be any rush, the strike ballots have expired, there hasn't been any effort to close the deal or to engage the membership with any "official" information.

We've just been fobbed off with excuse after excuse after excuse. There should have been a deadline for these talks and we should set a deadline now. If nothing has been agreed by Monday the 15th February then we will walk away and explain to the membership the state of the talks, the stumbling blocks and that Royal Mail will suffer the consequences of industrial action.

So lets face facts, the deal as discussed prior to the improved offer was rejected, true or false? Yesterday, according to "the truth" the negotiations had ended. Last night an improved offer was tendered and the CWU are considering that - how long does it take to consider an improved offer? Is it so far removed from the rejected offer it takes so long to approve or not? It should be part of a new TV Game show - "Stringalonga Numpties" would be good.

I really cant believe that after 3 months of dialogue, it seems we are no closer to hearing anything.

What the offer is I am not in a postion to reveal. But it is an improved offer. So much for some posters view that Royal Mail were just getting us past Christmas and then would walk away from the talks !!!

Remember the employee agenda took 3 months and then we took strike action and defeated it.

Pay and Mod took some considerable time as did TDS then it changed to SDD.

This is remember a massive 3 years agreement and its has to be the right agreement. If it takes longer to finish it then providing its the right agreement will you really care after all it will be an agreement for the next 3 years.

I'd think twice about that ft, if they keep improving the offer it must have been FA in the first place and generally an improvement on FA is pretty close to FA. I can just imagine you at the roulette table smoking a small cigar and saying "I'll have sweet FA on RED". I just wonder what on earth happened to the deal of the century - with these improved offers coming thick and fast it must surely be the deal of the millennium by now

I don't know why you bother.You can never win with some people.
I hear it at work,"why did we bother striking " etc. What ever we get will be a lot better than we would have got and I don't think there can be any argument about that.
