I agree no one wants to work longer but if thats the only way forward to keep full time jobs i can understand the union having to go along with it.

so on 4.5 would i be on 1200 calls?

in our office most rounds are 4.5hr to 5 hr now left the office at 9.30am didnt get done till 2.30 pm what a day

Its bases on 2 hills with cul de sacs coming off them and its a pretty tiring walk.In the snow my legs were wobbling and i didn't think i'd make it.
Took about 4 hours 10 at the time.
If we go in to the realms of 5 hours plus i don't think i can carry on with deliveries.I may have to lose my job all together.
I don't like the idea.

Given that relatively few posties actually have to deliver to tenements they have certainly had a raw deal over the years. No-one seems to have taken the issue seriously.Even the 5kg bag thing is largely ignored. Any new agreement has to protect those workers like you who have to do thousands of steps a day.
It is time for the Scottish reps to look after their members properly.

five hours delivery at 4 miles per hour = 20 miles per day = 100 miles per week = 4800 miles per year= 144000miles over 30 years. We will have walked round the world approx 5.5 times. Now someone tell me that we wont be f....kd.

however we are again being georouted as it seems it wasnt right last time?
we are told this time they are doing it 'right' and measuring stairs etc
i know it wont be done right and it will show we dont need hours put back in
laughable really
