Im gutted:Overtime tomm/Sat

On the picket line today one guy who i get on with told me he was coming in tomm/Sat and Mon for 2 lots of 8hrs OT.
He's a driver so he gets the 8hrs.
I said why and he said he's got x amount of kids i said i had y amount,i actually have more kids than him.
Some how the convo got off track with all the banter and stuff going on and i didn't realise what he said to me properly till later on.
Another thing,he never comes in on his rest day,never,and i realised another bod was in on his rest day Thursday for 6hrs as well.

Now,i get on with the 2 guys and we're a tight nit office but i'm feeling pissed about it.
I'm pondering having a word with them tomm/Sat and tell them that i think they're out of order,and that although i dont wanna row with them(1 of them is twice my size!!) but i'm not interested in them anymore.

Just interested,but do you think i'm going too far with all this,i think it's a piss take.
My feeling is they might as well of just crossed the picket f***ing line!

Your thoughts,and i know a lot of you will disagree with me,but that's cool.

i was asked to double up the day after the last strike, i told the manager that i didn`t think it was right the day after the strike. he just walked off, and he is the kind of person who normally comes back several times to ask if you say no.

We had at least 6 people come in off their rota week to claim OT and cross the line, we had a full night crew come in as well. The amount of people coming in and making extra money is geting out of hand.

I overheard one strike breaker saying to a manager to make sure to let him know if there is a strike day when he's on rota or holiday so that he can come in.

I personally just don't talk to anyone who crosses the picket, I'm upto about half the office so far, I'll be talking to myself if it goes on much longer :)

Postman and every colleague on this site i worked 2 rest days this week and on average i work 12 hours every week have done for 21 years, untill im told by the C.W.U. that overtime bans are in place i will carry on doing so ,now that might not be a lot of peoples cup of tea ,but we are being called out in days of strikes nothing else,if that changes i will be more then happy to support our union 100%

I thought RM wouldn't pay more O/T after a strike day than the norm. These are their own rules. I must remember this for future saturday's

Must be my Lineo he was saying he had to be in the office till 1.00 and then had to do a delivery. Was he a large fellow.

loads of people working over at mine even though the picketlines were solid. I cut off but then the DUM put it onto drivers since their light on saturdays and in past area rep said we cant' refuse a reasonable one off requetst! The only alternative was to leave it till monday and i know the guy iwas covering won't cut off coz he is afraid.

thats why we need to up the strike instaed of an overtime ban, people respect strikes it sends a clear message, their out on the picketline not inthe office withthe manager harassing them face to face all thetime till they give in.

this whole dispute is about saving money and so i think the best way is to hit them for every penny we can,one way is for everyone to ocker on doing docket then they increase the offer to tempt you,one of our guys got 8 hrs for doing a third of a del this week,our budget for the year is going to be gone by august and with the amount of days off and a/l rm will not be saving that much on wages

i agree loads of guys worked there day off last week to make up there pay i rather they did that and stayed out on friday whats worse is the strike breakers pleading poverty who worked the fridays and came in on there days off too

at least if a striker works his day off (unless its the friday of course) it stop the feckin strike breakers getting any more dosh
