Too many managers - RM Letters (Split from PO)

we have 5 managers if 2 go sick we can cope, everyone just gets on with it and the show rolls on as always - that's 40% of the managers

we have around 300 staff if 40% of them went sick could we cope? what do you think it is panic stations if 5 go sick

so who is needed more?

given that they don't work all their hours ( they come in at 6 and are all gone by 12.30 and on a sat all gone by 10.30 coming in at 5.30)

it beggars belief they can ever go on about working all the hours you are paid for

Glasgow Mail Centre in exact same position with staff dropping from 1200 to about 800 yet still have same amount of managers. On a Sunday most managers stand about in groups of four or five talking for hours on end despite the fact they are on premium rate.
Anybody with any kind of business sence would look at what they do and either sack them or make them postal grade maybe something like TEAM LEADERS.....oops did I speak too soon.

TBH if we didn't have managers then we'd never get our IPS finished although if they didn't turn up then we'd just get on and do our jobs as normal

hi im reading some of the comments and how truthful that is. i work in a mail centre and yes there are far too managers doing f**k all but talk and drink tea. let`s be honest do we really need that many yet staff on the floor are told to accept more cuts. it`s about time it was sorted once and for all.after all why pay such high rates of pay to do nothing productive let`s get the balance right for once.

120 staff, and 6 chargehands - you could wipe out the overspend in one go by gettin rid of 3 of them, all ex posties too!!!!!
