Re- joining after taking EVR

Hi, I have been told that the time limit on re-joining R.M. after taking EVR is now six month's, whereas it used to be eighteen.
Can anyone clarify this.?

Fair play to you sir. RM in the current jobs market is a safe bet on the whole. But I find it astonishing that an OPG can go back after just 6 months and have a cash payout on leaving. Makes a mockery of the system really but go for it OP...

I will do a search when I can for the rules on EVR, but I am sure they should have given you a document that you signed when accepting EVR that pointed out the obligations and rights on both sides. If so I would read that as I know from experience in other jobs/careers that offer EVR will let you back in, BUT, you usually have to surrender part of the payout to do so.

Aint gonna slag the man off,in Rosyth Dockyard over the years,folk were getting very generous payments to leave,(£50,000+),left on a Friday and were back in the gates on the Monday as 'Consultants'.

To answer the original question> Re-employment after redundancy is covered off in Appendix 10 of the MTSF agreement.

Without reproducing the whole section, the relevant paragraphs are:

3.2 Guiding Principles
3.2.1 No one who has left Royal Mail Group (Consignia prior to 4 November 2002 and The Post Office
prior to 26 March 2001) on the grounds of redundancy or TMA will be re-employed or engaged by
Royal Mail Group on any type of employment or other contract, until at least a period of two years
after termination of employment has elapsed or ever in the case of former employees in receipt of a
pension. There will be rare exceptions to this e.g. BPCS engage consultant associates to carry out
work for a third party.

3.4.4 Policy
An individual who has left Royal Mail Group, Consignia plc or The Post Office on Voluntary
Redundancy Terms (or equivalent) or TMA and who is in receipt of a pension from the Royal Mail
Pension Plan will not be re-employed or re-engaged under any circumstances.

3.5.3 An individual who has left Royal Mail Group plc, Consignia plc or The Post Office on Voluntary
Redundancy Terms (or equivalent) or TMA but who is not in receipt of a pension from the Royal
Mail Pension Plan will not be re-employed or re-engaged before a period of two years has elapsed
following the termination of employment.

In summary - if you've gone on VR with your pension - you can't come back, if not - then only after two years.
