Cage Late Every Tuesday...

Can I ask other posties on here what time is your cage ready in the office you work on Tuesdays. we have this right tosser of a phg that takes his time all morning and we have to queue to get our reggies. he throws them all off and won't scan them in 9.00 am his excuse is there might be more in the missort run. .
Today was 9 30 am when he was ready.The Last Four Managers have been told but done naff all about it. I had to race around my walk today because of this tosser, because I pick my little girl up at 1 pm (Tuesday only). every other Phg Seems to have them ready at 8 30 am on Tuesday...
He does the Same Saturdays...
Then again the D.O.M delayed us Today due to lack of staff and other things. D.O. M will want me to absorb Tomorrow. well its my time to say "do one". I'll take a leaf out of the phg tossers book and kill time...

Please let me know your times your cage is ready on Tuesday Lads/Lassies..

And some think the drivers are bad but in the cage you have all day to act on paranoia and think who could be after your job most in the cage became managers then DOM's after that no one recognized them as they had their heads too far up their asses!.

Our PHG has them ready asap. I cover him when he is on holiday and it is a case of scanning them in as they come in.
Sometimes there are late specials on the missort run but we get them out by other means if the postie has already gone.
If our PHG acted the way yours is then we would just leave the office without them. Our PHG is a miserable git as well but he knows what would happen if he delayed us from getting out.

Very similar at our office, not ready till approx 9.20, when you're due out for 9.00 at the latest. They gloat on Mondays when the're ready for approx 7.15 and your not! I wonder if it isn't a ploy by management to stop you finishing that little bit early. I didn't finish yesterday or today until 12.30 by the skin of my teeth, without break that is correct finishing time. What it needs is the whole office to say they are unable to take registereds if they aren't ready by 8.30 Mon-Tue-Sat, & 9.30 Wed,Thu,Fri and say a driver will have to do them. The management will soon shape the PHGs' arses, like they do with us.

Well if they aren't ready for you when you are ready to go out - maybe you should be starting later and you aren't supposed to be finishing early. There aren't any PHGs anymore we are all OPGs and if they aren't ready maybe they should put more staff in there. My advice would be don't push the SDs because they are more important than ordinary mail and so are the tracked items they are a premium service liable to audit. Many people would be surprised at how involved the locker work is, then not everyone can do it.

We have two in the cage, but only one preps the actual regis' the other deals with the counter, but when that is quiet they don't help each other to ensure we are able to get out in time. So much for teamwork.
Anyone else that does the cage when covering can have the cage ready, but not the regulars. As they don't do delivery work they don't give a toss, it's self preservation.
The only thing is, lately with sick, leave, etc and low staffing numbers they have actually been required to go out and do parts of walks themselves. I feel this is the real reason, to try and prevent themselves having to do extra work like the rest of us.

Well the locker is supposed to be a secure area - so lets say something goes missing, who would be responsible? Believe me when I say not everyone can do it. Tell me when was the last time you did it?

Well you'd have to start later to wait for the SDs to be ready, the guns are slow and have to be downloaded for receipt before allocating to a walk which is achieved at the same speed. It would be beneficial if the specials could be received and allocated with a PDA which is much faster and does not require the use of the same gun BUT the two systems aren't yet fully integrated. There are people who can cover the locker but then they don't do all that is required just enough to get the stuff out.

Maybe both our Offices should either put lots of extened in on Tuesdays or bring it back. We could not leave the office without them, that would be wilful delay. if i had my way i would put the tosser on the hardest walk in the office. but every manager that comes cannot solve this problem.

As the office is struggling for manpower at the moment and there only being 3 people on the sorting because the rest have to throw walks off etc, there is a york still full of sky mags that need preping. So, i guess i wont be absorbing either!

This Tosser of a Phg does it delibretly on a Saturday on our office as well, because he has to stay on the window till 1 pm.he just hates seeing posties going home before him.. very bitter he is.. I have to get home quick to let my fella to the match some saturdays.
My hubby has said many a time. shall i go in and stick one on him.. I just said leave it. the guy leads a sad life...if he gives me regi's tomorrow near the end of my walk that i won't get to before 1 pm he can go and do one....
