Do we hire our Managers from Care in the Community schemes.

Post by sirgordonzola »

I have a long long list of moans about the incompetent excuse of a manager that i have the displeasure of having to work under everyday, but it does make me wonder, what on earth did they see in her, because whatever it was, i wonder where the hell it has gone.

She has the management qualities of a limp mute duck, the organisational skills of a blind librarian but we have to put up with her incredibly bad decision making day after day.

I was promised something in september, but to help her out i offered to leave it till Feb, knowing it would happen now, but guess what, now shes denying she agreed to it, it like going round in circles. And can anyone answer, when the schools closed back in jan, i was off for a couple of days with the children, due to a lack of childcare, does she have the right to take 2 days pay off me.

any answers appreciated.

The first thing they look for is - do they have children? The answer must be no and that is why instead of showing any sympathy for your plight when the schools were closed, she docks you 2 days pay.No commitments is a prerequisite for the job.
Second - they look for any sign of an ability to think for yourself. The slightest hint and you are immediately disqualified from management training.Just do what you are told and do not question orders from above.
Thirdly you do not need any organisational skills as most DOs work in spite of the (mis)management and not because of it.
And lastly in some but not all cases you have to be an ugly right-wing bastard.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The criteria in our office is whether you can show a history of stupidity and inadequacy in your family ie if your dad is a Royal Mail manager you get the job!

That's funny because I have been asked on several occasions if I would be interested in becoming a manager and it has always been that right-wing thing that has let me down as well.
That and the kids.
And not taking orders from above.
And actually having organisational skills.
And not being a fat bastard.
Apart from all of that.....

A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts, "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"

The man below said, "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."

"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist.

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but it's of absolutely no use to anyone."

The man below said, "You must be in management."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help. You're in the same position you were before we met, but now it's my fault."

I wouldn't worry too much about her because

With skills like that she'd destined for a move into Senior Management, in fact there's a position about to become vacant at the very top...I had considered applying myself...

We have a lino with special needs, another who is on a different planet ,they are never ever left alone in charge of the office,or all hell would break loose.
But I maintain and have evidence the worst Managers are in the PLanning dept, the name alone is a joke, these managers have to be specialy incompetant and arrogant.
