As the talks were extended into last week from the week before, it would be a good idea if the CWU were to give some sort of report/communication based on last weeks talks.

No, since the terms of these discussions specify that communications with anyone other than those present, should be zero.

The embargo does not prevent a joint statement being issued. It would be seen as advantageous to the process for a press release appraising Royal Mail and CWU as to what (if any) further progress has been made, and offer an opinion on the likely conclusion date of the discussions.
A single paragraph stating that talks have been extended further into this week to facilitate further discussion would have been appropriate, as CWU members have been patient beyond belief up to this point.
Also, I would hope that any 'back-slapping' and 'self-congratulation' on the part of negotiators will be on hold until such time as the ballot result of CWU members is known.

All I want, is to know whereabouts we are in the process of gettinga set of proposals together for being put out to ballot.

We were meant to hear things week before last, then last week and hopefully this week, so it'll probably be next week or the week after that! or maybe the following week.
