Billy Hayes at our AGM

Well as the titled post says Mr.hayes was at our AGM.

There were a couple of questions i asked our illustreous leader and they are detailed below

1. D2DS is it true the limit is being lifted to 5-6 from 3 with no additional payment and the payment being incorporated into our new pay scale.

2. Delivery spans going to 4-5 hrs and instead of a national agreement on this the finalised agreement being made locally.

I explained to him does the CWU hierachy understand the feelings of the workers it represents,do they realise that if the above is agreed how many members the CWU will lose.

I asked him if he was aware of RoyalMailChat and asked him and the hierachy to pay this site a visit to get the feelings of a portion of its members .

Informed him that our members do not like D2DS reason being they have stayed at pathetic 1.67p for many years and have not rose and that they are slave labour.

Anyway i didnt get a response to any of my questions and for those of you that are aware of how AGMS operate i couldnt or wasnt allowed to later go back and ask for answers.

But as i said in the meeting the no response spoke volumes to me and yes i am aware that Billy hayes is not directly involved in the discussion and its Dave Ward but he still should of answered my questions to the best of his ability but i got nothink. It was like listening to a politician they have a knack of fobbing you off and i was well and truly fobbed off.

Talks are still ongoing as we all know they are meeting twice next week and from what i can gather there will be somethink definite by the end of Feb due to this years elections. But as for reporting anythink useful that we may have gotten out of today i cant tell you anythink we are not allready talking about on this site.

To be honest, Billy came to or AGM and I was less than impressed with the way he skirted around questions and couldn't or wouldn't answer them.
But dave Ward was completely different than Billy and questions were answered in detail!!

We all knew what he meant, so it does'nt matter if its a K or a G. Oh and sentences start with a capital letter.

Moving on from the grammer lesson......

MoNkEyBoY,when you say you asked him the questions,in what way do you mean,did you get up to the mic or were they written questions and they pull out the ones they like.

Not 100% how AGM's work from area to area,do you have to submit questions before hand?

Also,what's this you couldn't speak to Billy afterwards,at my AGM a few years back i got someone to go up to Billy after it had all finished and give him a RMC flyer

To all intents and purposes Billy Hayes is a politician, at least in waiting. TBH Billy is an expense we could well do without - his repertoire is about anything EXCEPT CWU activities. He is a figurehead, rather like the Queen - and no...............

Can't believe you asked 2 major major questions and they wern't answered,or at least be told that due to the news blackout he couldn't say much.

Dave Ward will not do anything without consulting Billy Hayes, so he will be fully aware of all that is being discussed. I think if they increase the numbers of D2D we should refuse to deliver it. It's too much already.
