Got forms to complete to continue AOD claim, but...completing it will give RM monies - if I win Dog Attack case - and also penalise the dog owner financially.
But, all I'm really after is: To ensure the Dog Owner is formally identified as being "responsible" for the attack, due to lack of control of the dog and...
I'm not over-the-moon about RM getting ANYTHING at all! So, it's not Ambulance Chasing I'm after but, JUSTICE!
Is it possible to get what I want, or do I have to go down the Greed Machine route, as I assume the solicitors won't procede with the case, as they get their
"Pound of Flesh" out of this too. ( You can tell I'm edjumakated, as we did the Merchant of Venice in school. And, NO, it wasn't Approved!!!)
Any help, advice, assistance welcomed. Ta!

Re: RM/Simp Millar
I believe all the RM can claim back is the wages paid to you if you were off work because of the attack. So I wouldn't sweat it as they won't exactly be gaining anything, just indemnifying thier loss

Re: RM/Simp Millar
I had a letter off my local CWU branch today. I've got to go there to meet someone from Simpson Millar to discuss my case. Does anyone know what normally happens after that?
I'm not sure whether my case is against the homeowner for the state of their icy driveway or against RM for not informing staff of severe weather policy and not supplying requested equipment etc etc.

Re: RM/Simp Millar
The brief from SM who is handling my case told me that the "judges" are usually very reluctant to penalise the property owner/tenant for things like icy paths, bad lighting etc, so SM go after RM for not doing proper risk assessment/ training etc.

Just a thought, should I take my Stage 3 deliberation to the meeting with me?, in it the DOM admits RM's fault, ie no risk assessment etc.

Yes - in any legal matter full disclosure even if it seems to diminish your position is the best way to go. Otherwise, if it ever goes to court, or other lawyers get involved you may find yourself on the wrong end of compensation case, or even a criminal investigation for contempt of court.

Re: RM/Simp Millar
Had my meeting today. All I had to do was make a witness statement to the solicitors assistant, that took an hour. I was told if the case gets taken on it will be against RM and not the home owner.

Re: RM/Simp Millar
I never had this meeting myself, but I had a letter saying RM admitting Liability, but sort of contesting "causation" etc.
