Royal Mail Uniform!

Had WTLL today and told we could wear Royal Mail Uniform only! Checks will be carried out in the coming weeks. Now at my training day(3 years ago) they told us to wear lots of thin layers to regulate your temperature throughout the day, I agree that Royal Mail uniform is VERY thin layers of a thin shirt, thin fleece and thin coat, but this alone is not sufficient to keep me warm, I have no problem wearing uniform but have to compliment it with my own sweater and bodywarmer, none of which is on display to the public !I have lost and not regained 1/2 stone in weight already since starting and do not have any fat reserves left to keep me warm, can Royal Mail stop you from wearing extra layers to keep you warm if they won't provide you with fit for purpose clothing?

socks ! cant even get f***ing shoes and as for fleece you could spit through them they are that thin its a f***ing discrace !

NO in a word but you cannot ware items on view so if you feel like striping for the pervert do so by all means has he not enough work to do or is he just filling time justifying his job!.

not any of the items i wear are royal mail uniform because we can never get any. been asking for boots for months. keep warm sod what they say. unless they can provide us with the uniform then how the hell we suspose to wear it. its a shambles.

took 3 months for my footwear to arrive

and as for wet weather gear forget it they don't do em in my size had to buy my own

they never moan at me but maybe because they know they can't supply them!

If I were you I would agree as long as it is office wide and as long as they have an agreement that uniform is supplied within a specific time scale

we have people wearing trainers on delivery because they have been waiting 4 months for their shoes to arrive!

I wear my own trousers because i find the rm ones too uncomfortable and ill fitting! Plus in this cold weather i wear my own sweatshirt coz ile freeze to death otherwise, i also wear my own jacket for the same reason... lots of others wear their own clothes and manager doesnt seem to mind. Only thing we get told is to wear rm shoes/boots or black trainers at the least.

yeah cos it's well known that black trainers have better grip than other coloured ones

Dispite all the concern that I must wear RM authorised shoes no one has ever questioned me wearing my own trousers/shorts or microfleece. Basically they pick and choose the rules to suit them!

Why should posties be allowed to wear trainers and whatever they like. I saw one bloke the other day wearing jeans and trainers and a polo shirt doing collections. What a joke RM is becoming. Used to be a conduct issue, surprised it isn;t anymore...
