does this count as bullying and harressment

during the exceptionally busy period/snowy period over the last few weeks due to family commitments i found myself not completing my walk along with a few more lads from my do. no harrassment during telling the dim or lino although we did get that "your joking its quiet" look they are tip top at doing but in the days/weeks that followed i found myself along with 3 other other people namely the lads who also hadn't completed being prep tested on my frame. now to my knowledge we are the only ones who have had this done. now this past saturday was my day off although i had swaped my original day off of wednesday for the saturday due to a collegue needing my wednesday off.. now friday came and on my way out of the do on my way off i was asked by the lino and dim if i wanted to work saturday. i said yes as long as i was on my duty as i dont want to be on a strange walk on a saturday. not a problem they said as the floater already supposedly knew he wasn't on mine. so i said oke doke. anyway saturday arrived and i went in to find my floater on my round no knowing nothing about this and quite rightly refusing to budge . i went to see my manager and said you will have to do another walk which i refused saying thats not what i agreed and id rather go home. go home then was the stern reply so i did. didnt think anything of it til today i went to my bike to empty some excess d2d,s out of my pannye's excess d2d (which i have moaned to my dim for the past year about cos i get about a hundred too many of each and he hasnt done anything but thats a diffrent story) anyway said dim had been rooting in my bike pannye's and took them out and apperently according to a collegue been sniffing round my frame on saturday looking for something which i think is linked to me going home abruptly and leaving him in the sh1t. as of today the d2d's havent been mentioned but im expecting it. do these instances count as bullying and harresment cases in the forum dwellers eyes? and if so what should i do? cheers

i would suggest that you start keeping a diary immediately. Any thing no matter how petty or trivial it may seem at the moment, write it down dates times and what was said or done.At our office we had to do this and after a matter of time when all the information was collected it made very unpleasant reading. This eventually was forwarded to our area dim who acted on it. Dont make it out to be a witch hunt but a collecting of information!

Start making a diary of everything that happens from now on. It is truly the best thing you can do. If you feel intimidated at any point, get the diary out in front of them and note it down. If they ask what you are doing, tell them. Watch how quick they will back off......

i would see my union rep but we don't have one in our office. i ve seen 3 come and go in the 6 years ive been here and they all end up getting potted/sacked!!! so noone one will take on the cursed position! its everyman for themselves and as a result we get well and truly drybummed by management regarding everything lapseing/bullying you name it it all goes on! our dim has actually got previous harrassment cases against them and from what i can gather instaed of being punished he gets moved to diffrent offices!

What were the results for your prep test? even though there is no agreed prep rate. Just curios, when you say prep test , what exactly was tested? Also as above, keep a diary and always work like someone is watching you, because they probably are..!

I know the feeling mate I got fitted up by RM on 2 bullying and harrasment charges in my time just for being a rep. However you will still have representation at branch level and you need to speak to the area delivery rep or whoever represents you asap.

The sorting test is ,if I am not mistaken, a one minute test only and they are looking for you to achieve 25 items which is not very achievable unless you have the perfect frame and compliant letters. 15 is probably a closer figure to be honest.

When you get your diary out to note things down, ask a nearby colleague if they will witness what is done & what is said ( and make a note of it in your diary ) & only go into the office if a manager asks "...for a quick chat / a quiet word in your shell-like / etc" with a rep, or a colleague who will witness everything that is said - NEVER meet with managers alone, no matter how casual or informal it seems!

THERE IS NO AGREED PREP TEST. But having said that , our dim reckoned it would be about 14 per minute but he would accept 12 ( good eh ?) that would be letters. So what about flats and packets???? When i was timed, it was for all the mail to thrown in. Even after that, the dim still tried to fiddle the time to suit him.

Also , if you go into the office for a factfinding interview, always ask for a copy of the notes he should be taking...

as far as i am aware there have been no agreed prep rates and testing has been abandoned in our do due to the large number of complaints and grievances raised as a result. raise a grievance now and consult your rep. unless of course you already have the boot mark on your head?!
