Just add up what we earn from D2D's

3 Items X 1.67p = 5.01p
5.01p X 450 calls ( average walk ) = £22.55 per week
42 weeks X £22.55 = £947.10 ( allowing for holiday weeks / xmas / sick leave )

£950 per year

Multiply that by how many years you,ve left to serve...

5 years = £4750
10 years = £9500
15 years = £14,250
20 years = £19,000
25 years = £23,750
30 years = £28,500

Sorry forgot to add that if RM increase the number of D2D items to say 6 per week then you would have to Double these figures......Scary isn't it, can you aford to lose that much money ?

It's a lot of money and your estimate is a bit on the low side considering at the moment i have around 600 calls and the price/item you have quoted is the lowest we are paid.
In my opinion there may not even be a lump sum it may simply be used to boost your hourly rate.
If i'm wrong and there is it will not be very much.

If Royal Fail get their way this could double to 600 x 6 = 3600 Why the f**k should i break my balls to carry this shite when someone else with 200 calls gets the same pay . Should the supplement be related to number of calls?
Good question but difficult to manage with reserves,floaters,annual leave etc.
I would imagine they would go for the simplest option.....Flat Rate.

In our office we have heard a rumour that people will be gettin 6 D2D each day in packs to deliver to every door. Walks will be decreased. lol. Not sure when this will be introduced but this would increase RM profits and probably put out of business d2d vans etc. I think this is coming our way.

also as steven 100 touched on they will bring d2d in on any day they want and make you deliver it in one day not spaced over 5 as it is now, also the payment goes up if d2d arrive later in the week just now, so that is another thing to consider when you are trying to come up with a figure

Same applies to D2Ds as any mail if they come up with that scenario. Do your hours, no more, no less. Lets see the Linos and Doms taking out 6 D2Ds on each dekivery that is unable to complete.

Using inflation figures, we should be getting 3p per item by now.

Some of the industrial estate deliveries in our office have less than ten D2D deliveries. I'd quite happily take the cash if I were those people.
Also, as a floater for many years I often missed out on D2D payments. I theory it's 20% per day but it isn't always practical.

I'm very tempted to take what they offer us because I think it is very possible they'll just change the name of the product and make us do them for free anyway.

I suppose it depends on how long you reckon before they squeeze us ALL out and replace us with non-unionised, minimum wage suckers.

To be honest, if they offer a years d2d takings (or even 6 months worth), who knows if I'll still be around!
