Management being primed ready

Just had a phone call this evening from someone who has a manager from a well known city live on their round. He's told his postie that they're (management) being told buy their immediates to start doing deliveries/walks possibly in 3 weeks time! I wonder why...?

It would be my guess that it all depends on where we vote on what has come about tomorrow - accept or strike. If they wave the lump sum as per the Pay & Mod agreement then it's as good as agreed you'll see. Turkeys voting for Christmas

Oh I wouldn't be too sure about that, there is definitely a different atmosphere towards this agreement, last time it was a split PEC decision originally, they had to be coerced into agreeing, and then sent out to areas to persuade them to get the branchs to advocate acceptance. This time, people are more aware of the issues because they are seeing first hand that RM are riding roughshod over the interim agreement and so any new agreement needs to be a good'un. They haven't forgotten the issues they went on strike for and have no intention of voting for the same old same old.

Whilst I agree with what you're saying, I remember how hurt I felt at being told at the end of last year that the CWU had agreed an interim agreement and we were back to work. There is a lot of ill feeling in the camp in our office as it is about that and this and this alone could sour any agreement being voted on. Only time will tell. We await with baited breath

The same think will happen as last time, people will look at the £££ and become blind to the rest of the agreement, and accept it.

I wouldnt vote yes if it was £5000 if it meant absorbing D2ds, absorbing more workload, continueing with bullying management. The average walk would get approx £1200 a year for just 3 D2Ds per week. Add on any payrise that we should be entitled to anyway, theres not a lot of change out of £5K and we would be losing the D2D payments forever, and be expected to do as many as they wish to throw at us.

Then its up to us reps up and down the country to make sure everyone knows the score and not just how much money where going to get, paint the picture so they have no option but to vote NO!! Of course unless the agreement is better then expected. I still think we will hear nothing tomorrow and there will be another extension.
