Park and Loop Nationwide trials to begin April 2010

Been going round our office that a park and loop trial is to begin in April of this year.

Essentially its 2 deliveries share a van and take care of everything - specials, large packets, collections, the lot.

Could be bullshit but it came from a manager involved in planning georoute and other crap so take it however you like.

I can tell you now this is NOT bullcrap - it is in, and it is going to be the new delivery model, like it or not. I would, if I were you, avoid the park and loop like the plague and stay on a town delivery - I won't go into detail but you'll be working a lot harder for the same pay.

What do you mean by town delivery? Were one of the most densely populated cities in the country and were supposedly trialing P&L outside of 1 mile radius and HCT within a mile from DO for all walks.

However, I don't believe that this will be rolled out all at once and so for most on here there will be a bedding in period during which time it may well be all change.

So are you saying that the actual walking part of the deliveries stay at 3.5 but they are allocating each person in the van an extra hour to do the large parcels, specials, bulk calls and travelling from different loops?

Wrong and wrong and wrong again. The duties will be until 3 o clock, doesnt matter if they add 1 hours extra to every duty or 5 hours extra, its until 3 o clock. And see those peeps running round like fools, lets see them do it with either a HCT or a golf trolley (bags will become obsolete). At 2.45 its head back to the office, the manager can sort the rest out in any way he so chooses.
