Told by manager today half an hour will have to come off every delivery to accomodate walking round with a golf trolley, because its obvious you cant walk as fast pulling it, and Georoute 2 will make this happen.

Great news is that.

Mind we will be on the streets until 3 o clock regardless of the fact some of us have kids to pick up from school.

we ve had to deal with 1525hrs finishes for 2years 3pm last letter we mentioned child care problems and were told tuff deal with it

Well I WONT be dealing with it I'm afraid. You must have agreed to it as currently last letter is 2pm town 3pm rural. Only people to blame is yourselves.

I'm afraid you DOM has forgotten his medication.
If he arrives at his bosses door with a plan to remove 30 mins from each delivery and therefore INCREASE his budget he will be sent away to think again.
Georoute will be "adapted" until it produces the savings RM require.

Strange, when we were told we would be getting trolleys etc and we made comment about it taking longer it was dismissed and we got fobbed off with the usual s**t about having time to do it (ignorant two-faced freaks like our DOM really could do with being forced onto deliveries to test them out!!)

As it stands we still haven't got vans, trolleys or any other of these "improvements" they keep telling us about. Personally I can't wait to see how these will work with a DOM that thinks time will stand still whilst we piss about dragging trolleys and taking extra work out in a van.

Modernisation, I love it

i am on a rural it works in your favour when your 7-3 you cant do extra or laps cos last letter is 3pm so if your late out you just dump on managers office and say 3pm last letter i dont make up the rules deal with it

Honestly those were his very words this morning. Mind he's on his toes permanantly to another office after Saturday so he can say what he likes.

Tell you this. Give me a van and a driver, give me a golf cart, give me all the houses I have now, and at 2.45, whatevers left goes back to the D.O, simple. And then the driver can take me to the school for the daughter.

i am on a rural it works in your favour when your 7-3 you cant do extra or laps cos last letter is 3pm so if your late out you just dump on managers office and say 3pm last letter i dont make up the rules deal with it itllnottouchyou

This sounds O.K even though where I work these new times have yet to come in.I have kids myself and took on the job a few years ago to help me work around my children and to be there to pick them up from school when my wife is at work.
This worked great working from 4 and 5am ,getting home in good time.
Don't get me wrong I don't mind working my 8 hours a day which we are doing now as apposed to when I first started but to go from what we had to what we have now is like going from a morning to an afternoon shift with some employees no longer being able to forfill their duties away from work.
I think it stinks that the management doesn't seem to care about life outside of work and could give such a negative response to any child care problems.
As I said these changes havenot come in where I work ,so what happens on Saturdays? ,do you start and finish any earlier than a week day because at the moment Saturday for me arenot as longer working day by about half an hour to an hour.
What happens also if the times don't fit round your family life and you need to find another job? Will there be anything put in place to allow you to go for interveiws??

If you posted your last letter at 3 you'd still be going over your time...We leave at 10 after a 40 minute meal break , and make damn sure we've stopped delivering by 1345 to be back in the office by 2. No extra time from me unless they pay me for it.

Are the Mk 2 Golf Trolleys any better than the Mk 1's. which were total crap and collapsed if you just looked at them sideways

Surprised there's any golf trolleys anywhere and all the Dom's aren't using them for a round. Couldn't make it up could you, golf trolleys are exactly that , for playing golf, not carrying tons of mail.
