4 weeks worth of D2D's

I do holiday cover and such, and have just been put on a round where nobody's done D2D's for a good few weeks. Now somehow, despite the fact we've only HAD d2d's for three weeks since xmas, the boss has asked me to do the 4 weeks worth sitting under the frame. Fine, fair enough, I need the cash.

But should I be paid a premium, as I am only really supposed to do 20% per day, and I am effectively doing 80% per day? (4 weeks worth, 5 days to do them in...)

Don't tell me I shouldn't be doing them at all, I'm sure I shouldn't but like I said due to personal reasons I am desperate for the poppy...

You shouldn't be doing them ;)

But, as you need the cash you have decided to do them....you won't be paid any more than the standard D2D rate.....I don't thinnk you'll have any joy persuading manager otherwise...

I do 20% no more no less. 4 weeks seems a heck of alot to me. But if you need the cash, then go ahead, but my main concern would be the weight of the bags.

1st make sure no other postman has been paid them by mistake

2nd make sure they can make 4 weeks payments to you (i carnt remember how many weeks they can go back think its less then 4)

3rd if they get past 1 and 2 its up to you if you want the work load as you can say no im only doing this weeks as you do not get any extra payment (unless you hold him to ransom and say give me 2 hours overtime as well and i will do them)and look him in the eye)

i did 18 lots once!! customers werent happy but sod them I needed the cash! Just put them all inside each other. Took me about 6 hrs in total but worth it for about £165!

ive cleared last weeks and got this weeks in

we were told if we do them allthis week . that is 4jan, 11jan= 40% extra. this weeks paid at normal rate. just ask your boss &tell him we're getting that. total 3dtod per week=9

You could ask your manager for some overtime to get em all done by the end of the week, if his answer is no, you'll know to only do your 20% and leave the rest for when the regular returns, a case of you scratch my back.

As you have arrived on the frame and have previous weeks dtd's then technically THEY are late and you should be paid a premium of 20% extra for each lot from the weeks that have been left undone - it is the managers responsibility to ensure that they are cleared each week and I bet he has sent the declaration form to that effect. Try for the extra or call his bluff and say only the present weeks dtd is your responsibility. By all means sell your soul to the devil, but get a good price for it.

I was told if you get your D2Ds any later than wednesday you can refuse to do them. I was also told if you get them a DAY late it's an extra 20% and if they are 2 days late then thats 40% extra they have to give you.

i work wed-sat

so if im on cover from wed-sat then i dont have to do d2d's if no one bothers to do atleast 40% monday & tuesday?
