I've seen them previously, and thought they were useless. I didn't get the feeling they were unbiased, but then the chap I saw used to work for Royal Mail before taking voluntary redundancy. You'd probably be better off seeing your GP. Hope something works for you, I know how unpleasant it can be.

You are obviously too unwell to to have your head mucked about with by any old Tom, Dick or Harry. The deterioration in your ability to spell is a clear indication of your need for proper medical assistance.

Write to ATOS in your broken english and thank them for their offer of an "over the phone" consultation from an "expert" off the street but regretfully decline their kind offer. State that you intend to take the risk of seeing a qualified professional face to face but emphasise the fact that you love your job and it is your most heartfelt intention to return to work as soon as your medical advisers recommend you to do so.

It will normally be a ten minute phone call from a "nurse" and depending what you say, what she thinks. You may be called in for a 20 minute consultation with one of their doctors. Then if required, medical reports are sort from your GP and or specialist , finally a report is sent to your Dom.

The last ATOS call I had totally confused them all! The nice lady said, "I'll have to take advice and get back to you later."
Well...must be a hell of a lot of advice,as I haven't heard from them since, LOL.
Remember this: If you can't convince, confuse.

No they must ask your permission to see your medical notes,and even if you do give your permission you can request to see what the doctor puts about you.
You can then decide whether these arsewipes sees it.

Atos will offer max 4 -5 sessions with on of thier consellers then send a report back to Royal Mail management. The report will tell them wether they think you are fit to work or give them a time scale of your recovery ..Many people will find the 4-5 sessions they offer are not sufficient and are a waste of time.Atos are working for Royal Mail and are paid per referal!

If you are suffering from depression, anxiety or stress then I would say talking to your GP is the best option .They also can arrange Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions through the NHS but the waiting list is lengthy

Cheers folks. Atos counsellor phoning nxt cpl days ,should i just say im seeing my doctor about my health etc? Grievance form will be in this week too as its down to them how my health is at the moment ,,,more stress!
