Did anyone else receive one of these as safety briefing / WTL ? Honestly, you couldn't make it up, its like something out of a Victoria Wood sketch If this is such a serious issue then why can't RM just make it a zero tolerance policy? Or would that drastically reduce the number of managers overnight?

they put a new poster up in our DO, a big boot that said 'stamp out bullying'. I was tempted to write 'sack the management' underneath it. and i also wonder where they got the boot ...? could do with a couple for my delivery

It's no laughing matter and it really isn't nice being on the recieving end of repeated bullying by so called "colleagues".
I very nearly left RM because of them.

There are some great definitions of bullying in that link. here's some:

"Being subjected to disciplinary procedures with verbal or written warnings imposed for trivial or fabricated reasons and without proper investigation".
"Being coerced into leaving through no fault of your own, constructive dismissal, early or ill-health retirement, etc".
"The purpose of bullying is to hide inadequacy".
"Being the subject of written complaints by other members of staff (most of whom have been coerced into fabricating allegations - the complaints are trivial, often bizarre ["He looked at me in a funny way"] and often bear striking similarity to each other, suggesting a common origin)".
"Denial of the right to earn your livelihood including preventing you getting another job, usually with a bad or misleading reference".

And here are some of the personal attributes that a bully looks for in their next victim:

"Being popular with people (colleagues, customers, clients, pupils, parents, patients, etc)
Undertaking trade union duties
Quick to apologise when accused, even if not guilty (this is a useful technique for defusing an aggressive customer or potential road rage incident)
Being good at your job, often excelling".

Interesting as well that the bully needs a victim to survive as much as they need food and air.

On the same website you can read about group bullying which is called "mobbing" and the physical and mental problems which the victim can encounter.As Scottish lass says its no laughing matter being bullied.There's also a public sector section.

thats my point entirely. we all seem to realise its not a funny subject but to make a wordsearch out of it really takes the biscuit
