was told today that this is the day we get told about the changes etc, Later starts, longer rounds shorter working week. Not looking forward to this i must tell you, i can only see more strikes on the cards especially if the union have stiched us up?

There won't be an agreement - apparently they were a mile off last week.....if an agreement pops up out of thin air, fully formed, on the 22nd, I'd be more cynical of it than if David Cameron said "Vote for me & I'll give RM all the money back everyone has stolen from it, you can have a 75% pay rise, 50% tax cut - and if it rains, you can have the day off!"

I do personally believe that the top(? ?) management have used these talks as a stalling period to get through the Christmas pressure period and fully intend to implement the changes what they want in the very near future. In previous national major changes, negotiations do go over the desired timetable but I suspect this shower have a hidden agenda and have only entered into talks with the union to play to the galleries of Joe public and the media.

One point I would like to make is that I have read elsewhere on this site complaints that the CWU National Officers have not been up to scratch in recent years and seem intend on fence sitting and also reference that proper decisions have not been made since John Keggie was pushed out.

I agree with the sentiments on this but add one very important factor....... the beast :cfo that they deal with now is completely different to the top management we had 5 to 6 years ago :lfo This current lot I would never trust and the sooner this government as the shareholder of RM gets shot of them for good and get people in to run RM who are not out for their personal gain, the better. If they could find such people of course!!!!!

As long as you don't walk more than 3.5hrs in town or 4hrs rural, that's all you need to worry about.

Mistreated my arse. Wish I could start and have all my round thrown in , NO ips, just bag up and go - staying out till 4pm to top up the weekly hours. Walks at our place are pretty much the same bar 1 or 2. I leave work at 8:50 , pts leave at 9:10. Im home at 12:30, theyre home at 3:30. And to prove me correct, the floater does mine and there`s and gets done at a similair time on a daily basis. Get a grip or get a new job with more hours and stop fecking whining

If your home at 12.30 you must be a part time or are you pulling the wool ??? Or prehaps you start at 04.30 , I don't think so . Your one of the reason why RM is having so many problems because idiots like you don;t want to change and do a full days work, 8 hours work for 8 hours pay!! my hours of work are 05.45 -14.15, no finishing at bloody 12.30.

what i dont understans is how there walks are so "easy" and finishing early . when part time walks are so "hard" and finish 1 or 2 hours longer! send them round to the part time walks in a van to help them finish in time if there gettin the managers finer up there bum with an easy walks etc .

Well,Unlike you el_cartero i prefer only to speak from experience.In our D.O part-time walks and full-time walks are all the same.Some walks are longer than others but not because they are part-time or full-time,just because some are longer than others.
What does happen though is that because the longer walks are last to be picked these are normally picked by part-timers because genarally speaking part-timers have less seniority than full-timers.
This is simply because RM for a long time was a predominately full-time employer.
I know there are exceptions to this as some elected to stay part-time or bought down there hours.
This i suspect is the real issue for you and not this tired old part time/full time equality argument.

In my DO a PT duty is a 30 hour week 5 x 6 hour days so prety much no spare time

Take a FT on longs and shorts who does a 9 hour day on the long days but IPS last 75 mins max and the delivery work is hardly any different.

1 hour 35 mins plus the 6 is 7 hours 35 mins leaving a 85 min discrepancy.

Not enough indoor work to fill out a 9 hour day. Perhaps that was the RML plan with longs and shorts?
