But I seem to recall in the letters a article on d2d in which a certain illustrious gentleman by the name of BOB GIBSON stated that it was his full intention to remove any cap on all the d2d crap we deliver.
Did anyone else notice this ??
If this is what I'am paying subs for to be forced to carry more weight by my own union then I think it is time to call it a day and be £150 better off .
A few in my office saw it they all said if that happens then its time to pack in with the union because they are NOT listening to what the members are saying, how long has bob gibson got to go before he is up for re-election could be interesting ?

The fuss with d2d is its crap plain and simple . We lug it round and deliver it just to see it go straight in the bin, nobody wants it.
So o.k somebody must use it at some point but to have no cap is ridiculous, or perhaps you dont think your bags are heavy enough already. If RM installed more pouch boxes it would help but as we all know thats like trying to find a crock of gold at the end of the rainbow.We cant even get snow chains for our shoes so any extra expenditure is pie in the sky. Its all about balance sheets and profit and loss.

Instead of ending a cap on D2ds, he should try to substantially increase the payments we get for them.....I know from other posts here that the payments haven't changed since D2Ds were introduced!

wait till the agreement surfaces and i think in it will be a lifting of the cap on d2d and some form of wage rise to enable them to be absorbed into the workload, and if that happens it is definitley time for change at the top of CWU

but would that be a wage rise JUST for delivery staff, considering Mail Centre staff don't deliver them?

the current plan by royal mail is to have 6 d2d's a week to be delivered 1 a day...let them go ahead with this and they will shoot themselves in the foot...pegasus has worked out walks in our sector at 3 and a half hours going to 78% of doors
if you are going to 100% of your calls every day delivering d2d's it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that posties will be streaming or cutting off every day until the walks are sorted out creating more jobs(and hassle)
Have heard that d2d may be bundled like in some sort of bag so if it was 7/8/9 it would end up like a small packet for every door
If it was 1 per day over 6 days, is the floater going to do one day on each of the walks they cover?? we got some lazy barstewards who don't do them cos they are floaters
We only dislike them because they're more of a PITA than what they're worth.
However, if the CWU were able to negotiate say 3p per item and we had six lots per week then we'd be getting the best part of £100 per week for them. I think we ought to use them to our advantage.
They are a good boost to a PT's wage packet, as long as you are able to put all six in the frame on Monday to spread the weight over the week I can't see a problem and would welcome the extra cash, my missus is being made redundant at the end of Feb.
Guys,yes they are a pain,but what company in the world would pay you EXTRA to do something you already do,that's like bus drivers getting extra because they pick up the kids on the school run.
So what do we do,tell RM to give it to our competitors,tell RM we don't want to work,tell RM to slash their profits,tell RM we don't want a job!
