Stripped For Evidence.

Post by Jenny Manchester »

Just after a bit of advice really Ladies and Gents, one day last week I went to work as normal and as I walked across the car park at my delivery office I slipped in the snow and hurt my knee, soon after the D.O.M came in to the building, so I approached her and told her what happened and said, I may not be able to take out my walk due to the injury.
She then asked what was my injuries, I told her “ my knee is bruised and grazed” she then asked me to go to the ladies toilet where she asked me to drop my trousers so she could look for here self, afterwards lots of my colleagues said that don’t sound right, has management got the authority to do this, if not, how can I go about it please..
Comment welcome please.

Thanks Jenny Manchester.

Dropping your trousers, in a toilet, for another manager not versed in medical qualifications?

Of course it's not right.

This has made me very angry.

Your manager does not have the right to treat you like this. I believe your manager is guilty of gross misconduct.

You must raise a grievance and request an apology as well as requesting that your manager be taken down the conduct code for not treating you with dignity and respect.

If you do not get a satisfactory outcome to your complaint within 5 working days, raise a stage 2 grievance and write to your local MP.

if you need any help in drafting any communications, pm me. I'm sure a lot of others on this site will be glad to give you support.

This manager's behavior is unacceptable.

I got bitten on the back of my leg once and one of the managers wanted to see the injury, no way was I dropping my trousers, so I took myself off to the toilets and took a pic of the injury on my mobile. Then off to the hossy.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

have to decide if the intent was to embarrass or just clumsy and insensitive handling of a difficult situation.

Did you tell her you didn't want to take down your trousers?

She shouldn't have asked in the first place but it is something that might come up should this get persuded.

Too right.
Imagine if it had been the other way round IE you being a woman and her being a man and a male asked a female to drop her trousers.
I'd put in a complaint ASAP.
Who does the b1tch think she is?

P.S. Sorry I thought it was a man posting. I should have read the post more thoroughly.
Up to you then to do what you want but I'm sure dignity and respect comes into this.
Should be interesting if a woman puts in a complaint against another woman. RM will probably run for the hills.

To be fair many on here will have differing opinions on this.
The most important thing is jenny ,How do you feel about it?
Do YOU feel it was inappropriate Did it make YOU feel uncomfortable.
If it did then you must take this further
Of course your manager should not have done this but only YOU will know the context of the situation.
Whether she was trying to help.....or not.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
