Contact branch and they'll have the local rules. But in essence you put your name forward with another person seconding you I think. Then a vote is held unless the election is uncontested and tada your the rep.

I hope and think its that simple.

How would it be possible to find out more about royal mails procedures without becoming a rep?
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.

Go to the downloads section of this site and start reading.
It will take some time but will be worth it.

Yes, the download section of RMC has the relevant agreements covering most scenarios - other than that bamboozle DIM DOM with commonsense!

I would recommend that you go through the procedure of becoming Office IR/HS Rep as it does provide some protection when you confront DIM DOM. The support of colleagues is not always guaranteed and you could leave yourself open to disciplinary action if you take on the role unofficially.

Number One Tip ...
Always make sure you get the full story before meeting with DIM DOM regardless of the issue!

Number Two Tip ...
Always ensure you have the relevant Agreement, in writing, with you when meeting with DIM DOM as reference. If not, refer back to the sentence above about 'commonsense'!

Good Luck - it can be a highly rewarding role to have in the Office as well as being frustrating and thankless too most of the time!
