Reply from Postcomm regarding delivery times

Thank you for your email.

Postcomm does not regulate Royal Mail’s collection and delivery times, therefore this would be a matter for Royal Mail to decide.

Royal Mail states that it aims to complete deliveries by 2pm in urban areas and by 3pm in rural areas. Postcomm has not been informed of any changes to this aim.

All staffing issues regarding rounds would be the responsibility of Royal Mail and is not an area that Postcomm can become involved in.

That's odd.
I was at a union meeting not so long ago and was told that Postcomm and Royal Mail had agreed to forward last letter time to 3pm (town) and 4pm (rural) .

This had been agreed but as of yet not put into practice,this new bit of information seems to turn this on its head.

Good. Does this mean that the introduction of the Walk Sequencing Machines is off the menu.

We have been told that the walk sequencing machines for us (GU) will not be rolled out until mid 2011.

Postcomm will not anounce changes in the USO until Royal Mail and the CWU conclude their negotiations.
If they did they would be seen as pre-empting any agreement reached.
It's called stonewalling.
