Id like to ask a question in confidence to someone well anyone on here! Is there a way it can be confidential on here as bit paranoid management having a nose around this site .Its about beeing off sick with stress and discrimination etc .

kicked off my job tommorow again ,guy every week working his day off on my duty .. im gonna just walk out tell em im gonna go see my doctor as its getting me stressed .Told management 5 times now how its affecting me ,can they discipline me for walking out and going off sick??

Try to aviod walking out spoodoo it is not the answer.
I assume you are the floater and are being kicked of you duty to allow the duty holder to work his day off.
If you picked this rotation during a resign then this is your duty.
Speak to your rep as i'm sure "operational needs" will be thrown in your face.
However it should be pointed out to management if they continually move the same person this can be considered discrimination.

This happened for ages in my office and i was not fair. 
In the end a couple of floaters put in a complaint in written with the help of our rep. Result: unless agreed to swap with the floater if anyone wants to work a rest day they have to sign for whatever is on the overtime board on the day.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

They should not do this, ask the management if you wanted to work your day off also would they kick the duty holder off his walk and make him do another walk? if the answer is no then its discrimination. At my office the management wouldnt dare do this to a floater as a floating duty is a signed duty like any other duty and taking you off every week is a form of bullying and harrassment. If you are going to go sick because of it then do so but just ring in and tell them you cant face work because of all the stress of this rather than walking out.

ok cheers everyone ,i told em its discrimanation before and all i got was well thats the way it is. Reps just interested in getting out early ,cpl weeks back they put a posty just 2 weeks in the door on my floating duty and i got kicked off onto job ive never done grr .Our management are trained up in shrugging their shoulders when asked anything .Thanks ppl for replies.

Speak to the other floaters and see if they will back you up, if so draft a letter of complaint, all sign it and pass to your dom. Give him 7 days to act before going above his head to your section area manager. If at all possible try to get your rep involved. As i said it worked at my office, this should NOT go on.

The thing and i've mentioned it before is,what about the scumbags coming in and pushing him off!!

If a manager has any balls he'll say fine don't bother but they never do.

It used to be all the old favourites who got to cover their own walks. The doms excuse used to be that they always helped him out to cover overtime on rainy days etc so he helped them. But this is blatant favouritism and he had to back down. It helps if your not on your own and have the support of your rep.
