What was the strike for

Would somebody from the union be good enough to tell me what the point of striking was.
We have again been told we are going into park and loop whether we like it or not, and yes around 1 in 5 job's will be lost. Who told us why our area rep of course.
When we explaned we were not happy we were told basically tough it's coming get on with it. As one of our own put it.

But that's just it, the union isn't looking out for No.1, not in the long term anyway. More crappy deals that will see members either quitting, or more likely, being sacked on trumped-up charges, will see less revenue for the CWU in terms of dues being paid. Not to mention the large numbers of people well and truly pissed-off with what the union is doing, how many of them will have quit the union through sheer frustration? Because they feel so powerless to prevent what is happening, that jacking the union seems so positive to them?
If the union isn't careful, there'll just be one man and his dog subsidising Billy & Dave's comfortable lifestyles.
It takes two to tango, and I'm one of those getting really pissed-off trying to tango on my todd.
