Out and about today on my day off, I spotted a '59' reg Vauxhall Vivaro in full Royal Mail livery, belonging to a neighbouring DO. Got to be a step in the right direction! Whilst I feel sorry for anyone who worked for them, at least now LDV have gone we might get decent vans!

Must be the new vans we're supposed to be getting,
Have been told all drivers will have to go for appraisal and if you have too many knocks in the van they'll take you off the drive list as Royal Mail is losing to much money when they come to sell the vans off,
Can't see that happening as we don't have enough drivers as it is, all Drivers have been told there's no EVR as there is no surplus of drivers.

Yeah I saw one of those from a nearby DO this morning, looked very tidy.

Any chance the gear change will be a bit smoother on these, my left arm is twice the size of my right from driving the LDV's

My

'My' van is used most afternoon / evenings by collection drivers from the local MC. It really annoys me when I get in to find rubbish dumped on the floor, chewing gum spat out on the back seat, etc. Some clown even backed it into something and bent it (although in fairness they did report it). I sometimes have to hunt for it when I come in, because it doesn't get returned to where I parked it, I find the log book not completed. They never re-fuel it. I know it's not 'mine', but it is my workspace, and I like to keep it tidy. It really annoys me when people who use it once or twice a week don't respect that.

But the worse thing is...they move my seat position, AND change the radio station...

The duty I'm on this week has a new Vauxhall Vivaro van. I thought great at last a decent van to drive, yes it drives ok but..........it bleeps inside when you reverse if there is something behind you(some sort of radar I guess ), I now have a splitting headache due to the snow depth setting it off constantly instead of intermittent whilst reversing, the seatbelt bleeps if you don't do it up, I kept wacking my knee on the side of the dash due to some strange design feature, got a great big bruise all across my knee, other than all that it was ok and it seems ok in the snow/ice even got applauded by a load of squaddies on parade for not getting stuck on a steep ramp, well impressed with my driving they were
