I know most of us have a go at RM. But i must say a big thanks to whoever had the wisdom to get the doc's into the system.Wore mine today in the snow & ice,they were great.Very comfortable & no slipping over.Well done RM,& thanks from a very happy postie

Got mone a week or so ago, thought I'd break them in, by taking the dog for a walk, 2 nice blisters, using my old no-tread boots, until I can break the bloody things in. :)

Yup great shoes once broken in, but a bloody nightmare the first few weeks, used all sorts of tricks in the old days to try and make the leather supple.

Torman, you were lucky to get them! Your feet are not size 15, or something equally unusual, by any chance? I've been waiting since September for a fairly commonplace pair of size 9's. Given up all hope on the CATS and the Doc Martens. Can't even get the good old slip and slide Magnums.
My current boots are worn smoother than a baby's bum. A fat lot of use in these conditions.
Sorry Torman, good luck to you. You are probably right to give RM a bit of credit for bringing in some decent footwear but I'm just a bit envious at the moment.

Yeah, great to be able to order some decent footwear at least, just a shame they can't provide them. Been waiting since the start of October for my Cats, might, just might get them by next winter.

Best boots ever had ,great in snow,BAD POINT--break in ,took ages and blisters ,the worst ever had for breaking in ,but now worth it and brill better than the Caterpillar trainners wich slip and slide.

Ive found the cat trainers to be pretty grippy so far, shame their not more waterproof.

The Docs are amazing, fantastic grip on the ice nice and very comfortable once broken in.

We found a box of snow chains in a old storage cupboard. They just fit on your shoe/boot. Tried them today for the first time. Never slipped once. Grabbed a few pairs for safe keeping.

Apart from ripping my feet to shreds the first couple of weeks, they are great, especially the not slipping, which has been my main problem with Magnums. Since the snow started though, I've been disappointed to find the docs aren't waterproof. Maybe it's just the snow going over the laces and getting through the tongue, but my feet are soaked every day.

Been waiting three months for cats. We did have a supply of snow chains but they have run out. The last pair of fingerless gloves went today too. Love the way management insist its safe to go out and deliver in horrendous conditions but can't be bothered to stock up on the necessary equipment :cfo

Hate Docs,by the time I've broken them in the treads nearly gone.But I'll give credit where its due I've found the magnums to be brilliant,can be worn straight away and very comfortable,not had an issue with them being slippy.Mind you its taken them 20 years to provide me with something that works,they'l probably discontinue them now
