Can you carry leave over to the next Financial year? I have a couple of odd days but would like to wait till I really want a day off. Or would I lose them if not used by end of March?

Correct - under the Way Forward you can carry up to one week or five days into the next leave year.
If you want to carry over more you will need to get the Manager's agreement.
But either way I would get it confirmed in writing as, proof in case there are problems later.

Last year they forced people in our office to take thier leave before the end of the holiday year, to stop them carrying any forward. This year no one can book any time off until april no matter how much time they have left to book. Apparently so many people took EVR now we don't have enough people to cover all the rounds. I would say our office is run by idiots but that would be complimenting them, as they are not that intelligent

i asked if i was allocated specific leave time before xmas, as i have a holiday booked in june already, the holiday/rota scheduler guy said yeh that'll be fine remind me after xmas, so yesterday i left a note on his desk with the dates etc,, today he came upto me with a serious face and told me i cannot have this time off, i said that he ok'd it before xmas. then he said well u cant have it off end of, so he expects me to cancel my holiday even though its paid for and ive given 6 months notice. I think this is a load of bollox myself but is it the same in every office?

Brother morale of the story is when dealing with management get it in writing.
