Snow..... how did you get on??

No way! Lucky bugger , we were told just to get on with it. When we should have told them we werent prepared to risk injury out on the street and told em we werent gonna go out.

remember its the post office spoodoo :P i think almost all shops that did open - will close at 15:30 today, incase further snow causes trouble getting home etc for those who have managed to brave the snow to get into work. also i dont think you'd get many customers on a day like this, as everyone's snuggled up at home

Told at 9am that we were not going out on delivery unless "we wanted to",of course you can imagine that some of the clowns went out and did a row or 2 but at least 80% of us stayed in.
Then around 1030am the boss said if we were to go home early we would owe these hours back so we stayed in where they nowt for us to do!!!!
We then had to see that same boss to clock off, and explain why it would take 20/30 mins to get home because of the conditions!!!!!
Same again tomorrow i presume?

Yesterday we had streamed delivery, i.e. whatever we felt we could manage - with instructions not to take risks in dangerous or inaccessible areas and to return the mail. Today we were asked to take everything we had thrown out but the IPS was stopped early and mailsort held back. We left the office in the dark for the first time in years, had about 6 hours to do the delivery and I only just made it. My driver came up with excuses for the second day running that meant all my pouch boxes weren't serviced and my last bag was a round trip of almost a mile to collect in snow up to a foot deep. Customers were great, offering hot drinks and thanking us for showing a bit of determination when so many others didn't. Apart from a few minor slips we have fortunately been free of casualties but when we get the snow glazing over I think a lot more care will be needed.
