Is just me or is our union becoming out of touch with what we want and how we feel. Looking through the different messages on this chat forum it look's to me as if they don't have a damn clue.

Agreed. I've fobbed off by reps as many times as I've been fobbed off by managers

not only are they out of touch at ground level the executive are guilty of collusion and desertion of duty..this union is sinking in a cess-pit of its own greed.its embarrasing

The only way to get the get the message across is to vote no in the ballot (if we get one) regards new deal and to getting people to stand against them in the coming elections. The annoying thing is nobodys know whats going on with the talks. This is a disgrace from the union as we do pay subs weekly.

The annoying thing is nobodys know whats going on with the talks. This is a disgrace from the union as we do pay subs weekly.

Dave and his team should have got tough with Roger Poole at the start and said that the members deserve and expect and are entitled to proper updates. Then something could have been worked out.

Hmpphh--so often the Unions have brought in collective agreements without our knowledge and consent-----if by some strange chance the same happens this time, I would want to see conclusive proof from them that IT IS WHAT THE MEMBERS WANT!Not what they have decided is best for them and royal mail.Mind you, with the latest upset within the labour party ranks---Billy must be feeling insecure about his looked for safe labour seat, so I wouldn't be surprised if he
once again suddenly appears to come back to our side!!!

I think one of the most important points learned in the last dispute was how RM so cleverly used the press to address the public and paint a very bad picture of our action. They really took us to the cleaners and spread a very successful "hate the postie" campaign.

I am afraid Billy is just not up to playing the big PR game . On a couple of interviews he looked as if he was suffering from a bad hangover and did not come across very professional . The CWU need a front man for press and TV work, someone who can really charm the birds from the trees and win over the public with perhaps Billy and Dave doing the real work behind scenes.
I am not saying its Billy and Dave’s fault its just that RM have totally upped the game and are now play dirty using the press to win over public support and it really worked for them. The CWU need to fight fire with fire and be better prepared next time.
