Worst snow I have ever seen.

Afternoon chaps.The snow here in the Peak District today is the worst I have ever seen.Our two rurals were cancelled(mine being one of them)and one person went sick,so me and the other driver did half a walk each.With more snow forecast today and the rest of the week I fear the worst.Anyone else had it bad.

You don't, there should be an agreement with your manager that if it is indeed bad where you are, at least 'try' to attempt delivery or just leave post in your fitting and just take out what you think you can deliver, are the managers forcing you to deliver in dangerous condition?

1 foot deep here in deepest darkest Huddersfield well at my house anyway - average is about 4 to 6 inches roundabouts. Some outlying deliveries suspended but when they cancelled the buses no one thought to tell the walkers, or arrange collection of said men and women. I predict a riot if, as forecast the snow carries on and freezes overnight.

Im sure that Adam Crozier, Billy Hayes and Dave Ward will not even give us a thought as they"re sat in their nice warm offices with a cuppa and being able to get to a loo when needed.Bet the bosses of TNT, DHL are having a laugh as well!

Getting rather deep here on merseyside ,raised the issue today of R/Ms duty of care with my DIM. And explained the ground being trecherous under foot.

His response was the best i have ever heard in my life as i asked him what measures he was going to put in place to protect our members he went outside looked up at the sky and said its ok by the time you have got out the office the snow would have melted . This then would have turned to slush making it even more hazardous

Well i didnt melt it fecking snowed even more and the s**t kept us on the sorting for over 2 hrs.

Im baffled now to the idiots in charge to D/Os they are so brain dead it beggars belief some times i really want to hurt my DIM .

You would never have guessed that 99.9% of the idiots in charge of D/Os were once postmen how they forget. You thick bunch of incompitent cretins.

Terrible over here,had to walk into work as the car was stuck,got into work only half of the lads had managed to get in and the Dimwit still insisted that it was possible to go out and do a FULL delivery despite most of the major roads here being out of action!
After much arguing he went to make a call to his superior nitwit who then declared that there was only two inches where he was and we should go out on delivery! Feckin prick!
We ended up staying in and was then told that we could eventually go home so long as we took near where we live,fair enough ...I live on a street with 6 houses so thats what got done!

And the first thing our managers said to us this morning was - if you can't complete then you owe us the time back! even though drivers couldn't get to the bag drops - f***ing' typical of this shower of s**t but they can all get fooked!

We have'nt had the snow down here today, when it snowed before xmas he kept us in for 2 days let us go early by 30 mins one day and an hour the next, the following day we had the you owe us 1.5hrs speech and if you don't like it come and see me. Will be interesting what he comes out with tomorrow when the snow hits overnight as the rep is on A/L.

Do you have a Delivery Office closer to your home? If so you should try to attend there.
