now. lol, the dom has said from next week we work to time. which is fine

he also insists that we have to take out break before we go out, and when we come back we will be sorting

at least it will stop people coming in early and running about but

can he make us take our break

He cant make you take it, but he can decide when it is, so he could say meal relief is at 10, and if someone does not take it, he would perfectly be entitled to ensure that anyone who didnt, returned to the office to see out their time sorting

As for people stopping running around/coming in early/using cars (delete where applicable) these people will never stop.....Why I hear you ask?

"Because some people were born stupid", you can easily spot them in any office....
they'll be the ones doing the most moaning and selling their workmates down the river, tearing up jobs and telling the DOM how easy your round is.

I started on time today and my net working day was 5 hours but im scheduled for a net working day of 5 and a half hours.

There are still posties at my DO who seem to think 'job and finish' is alive and kicking

And they will be the first to moan when the new Office Plan is introduced and they will be looking at collapsing a further 6 percent in hours (equivalent to 4 duties) once the dust settles at national level!

Job and finish does not exist. It exists only in the minds of the nutters that run around like fools, work their meal relief and use their own cars. Follow union advice, don't come in early, weigh your bags and work to time.

Job and finish was once the pinnacle of working for RM. You made simply loads of time to either go home early and have a good family life or work OT and still go home at a reasonable time.

Now it’s a mug’s game with people running around like headless chickens risking their own cars and cutting many corners just to go home 20 mins early. Its madness , total madness.
By making people sort mail or go out with parcels when they get back from a delivery may be hard at first but it least it will bring change as It becomes clear to even the die hard runners that the harder you work for RM the more work RM will give you back.
