DHL Collection Point At Old PO

The headline says it all, we all know the management are hell bent on destroying the Post Office Network and Royal Mail. Today i was on a rural delivery i hadnt done for a while when what should i see in a former sub post office but a sign for DHL parcel collection. The Post Office was in quite a fair sized village and making money but despite a campaign by many including the local MP who lives in the Village it was closed down 6 months ago after "consultation". The residents were then left with the choice of a 5 mile trip to the local town or a travelling PO parked in a laybye a couple of hours a week! I dont blame the owners for one minute they have to make a living.
How the hell can we hope to survive when we are strangling our own collection network, we are constantly being told that Ebay et al are a growth market so what do we do - close the post offices and give the business away.
Of course this may not be national but it is happening in Wiltshire.

I can only say the cloures in my area made no sense what so ever ,and to be honest did feel a couple of the real quiet ones could be closed as few people used them and the closeness to other offices.
But just like every where RM closed the busy ones and kept the quiete ones on,The quiet ones are still quiet ,but the main ones the ques must be hours long,no wonder we loose buisness.

The other day ordered something of Internet came via UK mail ,So had to go their Depot and pick up,very impressed with set up and opening times,and ability to find things unlike our callers wich still runs on the origanal RM system since set up!
