Extra day off in 2012

Apparently, there's to be an extra "Public Holiday Tuesday" in June, 2012, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

I can just see the Dom's trying to work out the off-duty's to ensure we don't get it!!!
They'll try to get it classed as another "non-delivery" day, like this last Saturday's "Boxing Day" was. ( Making it your day off for that week, as happened to loads of us!)
Funny thing is, if I WANT a Saturday off, the term "Blood - Stone" comes to mind...

If its a statutory bank holiday most especially if its our Sovereign's jubilee, the Royal mail title must count for something, they should give us the extra day off.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Mandelson is to announce in the New Year that Monday 4 June 2012 will
be an extra Bank Holiday to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, with the Spring Bank Holiday being
moved to Tuesday 5 June, to give the country a 4 day break (apart from posties and other people who
have to work during the weekend).

As regards to boxing day this was not a bank holiday as it fell on the weekend monday was a bank holiday for once royal mail were not c***s as they could of made us all work but they decided to let evryone have the day off and if it happened to be be your day off that was just unlucky or would you prefered everyone else to have to work on boxing day - a bit selfish perhaps.

They did but Royal Mail had to apply for it first or they could not have given us the day off.

The process AFAIRI is

RM apply for a series of No service days
Postcon - put it out for "interested parties" to comment on
Postcon then deliberate on the evidence and announce their decision
We get the days off
