lets all get together every1 in the union and we ll all go get a sick line for couple of weeks due to the stress of industrial action and the fact that our boss could nt give a s**t then we ll soon criple royal mail

Ive said that before that everyne who hasnt reached maybe stage 2 on the warnings should just self certificate for a week? total chaos me thinks?

It's a good idea but I think it'd turn a lot of the public against us at a time when the majority support us.

Postal staff at a delivery depot have been told they have to work extra shifts in their own time to make up for days lost through sickness.

Up to 90 workers at the North Delivery Office in Station Road, Montpelier, Bristol, are gearing up to strike on Monday.

They are planning 24 hours of industrial action in a row over shift patterns and proposals over sick pay.

If it goes ahead, deliveries to the BS6 and BS7 postcode areas, including Bishopston and parts of Horfield, will be cancelled for the day.

Members of the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) voted to take the action after changes were proposed by management.

Staff were told their system of working six-day weeks for five weeks before having a week off may be changed.

The proposed strike would come just two days after the national CWU strike planned for Thursday night and Friday.

so u think being on a stage 2 is dodgy then? im on a stage 1 at the mo, 6 months near up on it now, if a person is not on a 1 long term sounds good to me..

Prison Officers Association do it, as they've a no strike agreement

My managers currently considering handing me a second stage warning. All beacuse I came back to early from a back injury and then knackered it again.

Needless to say I recieved minimum support from RM despite me asking about the works phsyio and a possible switch to lighter duties for a couple of weeks. Both were promised, neither happened.

You have to see the EHS for light dutys,if he didn't make you an appointment if you asked then it's his fault.
You can use that against him.

Postman's right. I would recomend anyone of long term sick book an appointment with the EHS. Don't come back to work until they say, and ask for a rehab plan. If your manager breaches the rehab plan by forcing you to do more than it states, you can do him on a greivence.
Don't do them any favours by coming back early. If you do it by the book a DUM can't touch you.

Sounds if they wanted you on a stage 2 by "convientally forgeting", they'll have to start covering for that manager as RM are good at digging themselves into holes.

That sounds illegal to me. Sick Pay is a right so how can you work it back on extra shifts on their own time. Is the date 2007 or 1807
