does anyone know why distibution duties get excess duty payments on bank holiday weeks
and delivery staff don't

By distribution do you mean drivers - if so then they are different animals altogether as they are on Monthly pay - and their allowances, shift payments and any bonuses are different to deliveries.

If you mean Mail centres - don't have a clue.

Distribution duties as far as Network Drivers go, do not get any extra payments for bank holidays. Under the Profession Drivers Agreement (PDA) 2007 - Bank Holidays as well as Saturdays and Sundays are now normal working days. This came alongside no more Christmas Bonus plus Monthly Pay and unpaid Meal Reliefs for no compensatory payment.

distribution duties and delivery duties operate in the same office here, thats why i cant understand why they get excess payments and delivery staff don't ?

Can anyone for even a millisecond imagine tube drivers' leader Bob Crow agreeing a deal with things like that in it and putting it to his members ?? :d'oh!

Christ, I never knew about those aspects of the 2007 P&M agreement and how it affected drivers.

Who needs Royal Mail to attack our terms and conditions if our own union negotiates away important benefits for them ? :evil/mad

No wonder people are leaving the union in droves (according to a recent LTB) :nervous
