Post Offices to close at 12pm Christmas Eve

Which begs the question, where do we pouch off??

I certainly aint going back to the office with any packets and nor am I taking the home with me.

Having asked the gaffer this morning he reassured me "Oh you'll all be finished before then!"

Does he know something we dont???

There will probably be an attempt to accelerate the IPS using increased nightshift.
Get the feeds in earlier.Get you out the door earlier.That's how it usually works.
But in answer to your question,Does he know something we dont???,I doubt it he's probably just hoping.

There is a missort run on Xmas Eve so he cant possibly get us out earlier than 9am.

interesting,my boys nursery shuts at 1pm on xmas eve and was going to ask for an early start/finish tomorrow
seems i will be fine

But you'll owe them 2 hours,so don't forget to come in early tuesday and pay some of it back.

Even if i was stood at my first door at 9 oclock i still wouldn't be at the post office till at least 12.30 ,even if its an easy day

(and the post office is next door to my last house) .Then again the twats will probally make me take those pesky lightbulbs that keep breeding under my fitting if it is an easy day :mfo

I take it you walk/public transport home. I just find it bizarre that people go straight home after their last letter and not go back to take their bags back and sign out.

I'm the other way, I find it bizarre you actually NEED to return to the D.O.

It's just the different types of D.Os
Ours covers 4 diferent towns as well as outlying villages,It is 25miles from 1 side to the other so it would be more "bizzare" that people would return to the office.

Our office is staying open to 2.30pm. There's no way i will be finished by 12 noon as i would need to be out by 7.45 ish to do that. I recon is going to be a really heavy chistmas eve and i will be flat out till the end

Our Room of Doom is apparently open till 5.pm so we will be told to pouch off there if POs are closed. Luckily for me its my day off - Luck ain't I.

i have to take the van back to the DO
i do a non parking park and loop duty but we dont do it together as theres no parking(dont you love modernisation?)
so once back at the DO i drive home in my car
