Were having a flurry, with some settling, but nothing major...yet! So, when it does come - and it will - what's the "deal" with attending work?
I'm on 5 hrs per day ave, but it could take 30mins/1 hour to get in as it's 5 - 6 miles away.
Do we get any "allowance" for struggling in, or just get on with it? Any pats-on-the-backs, or "You're late! You should have been in ages ago!"
( I think I already know what the answers will be, but I'd like to get some postive's, if there are any...)

Most lineos know the score when the weather is FUBAR ( TF ), usual thing to do in that sitation is to phone your lineo up and say it's too dangerous to go all the way to your office, and travel into to your closest one, sign on there, and do what you can.....if your office is the closest office, well ask your lineo for advice, but if you think it will be too dangerous, don't come in ( but you will lose a day's pay for maintaining your H&S.....yeah, it's a bitch, innit? )

do what i do, wrap up walk and walk in but dont make an effort to leave earlier, just be late and say sorry had to walk. They will be happy you made it in as some people dont and a lot of people are late.

Take care out there tomorrow everyone. My office have 2/3 days worth to deliver in the morning, don't think we will be staying in for another day even though there is still loads of laying snow and the paths/roads are ice rinks.

They should provide them for shoes....if not you could argue that it is too dangerous to go out on delivery, and if he pressures you to go out on delivery, tell him to get stuffed, it should be PPE for cold weather working, and you are only looking after your personal H&S.....just as it is your legal responsibility to do so

Our DOM actually provided us with them so it might be just a local thing. Can't fault them on this one down here.

They have to be bulk ordered by a lineo from uniform - so it shouldn't be a local thing

This bloody snow is a freking nightmare! Just spent 10 mins trying to get the car off the driveway which is a slope and now got it stuck with one wheel down the flower bed so it aint going any where today Phoned my DOM told him i am going to get the bus in but they dont run to 7 am Going to have some tea and toast, calm down a bit then walk to the bus stop. When i do finally get in i am going to be badly behind so they can stick the ips Then a 5 hour delivery walking around on the sodding white stuff. I HATE SNOW

It's really come down in the NW last night, good job it's my day off! LOL it's snowing again now and it's forecast more snow in the days leading up to xmas.
