Roy Mayall on Radio 4 Book of the Week

Post by DemonPostie »

For all you posties who can't read (and I've met a few!), here's Roy Mayall's new book "Dear Granny Smith" on Radio 4's Book of the Week. I just caught the tail end of today's episode this morning, so staright away came home and listened to all of them!

Well worth a listen.

(p.s., i suppose if you have read this, then you CAN read. But f**k it, listen to it anyway!)

But with the radio 4 show, you can download it and listen to it while you work...

Feels very subversive! :)

I bet it did! Very well done, I hope the book does well for you.

Delivering this morning, I could hear it playing in the background of a few places I delivered to.

Finished the first 3 downloads. It really took me back to when i started back in 1988 i had forgot what it was like back then and how much I miss the old days when we had the time to really care for our customers. It made me quite sentimental really it’s a shame how much things have changed and how hard we get pushed now. :cry

Hope you've started a fictional follow up " Revenge of the OPG" ,indefatigable posties on a bloodletting score settling psychotic rampage driven insane by workplace stress and brutalised by the inhuman culture of intimidation and bullying. They called in the marines but they just couldn't catch them

I have just finished listening to all 5 parts on the iPlayer, and I'm glad I waited for the dead of night - really made it feel like an indulgence, with me unconciously nodding my head, at someone else describing the job to a tee, smiling at the characters, and feeling my throat tighten, especially at Jerry's despair......the whole series was absolutely fantastic!

:Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause
